London is undeniably one of the premiere destinations in Europe. The capital of England and a global city, this Metropolis has proven itself one of the best there is in the world. There are lots to see, hear, feel, and experience in this amazing city, here are some you must not miss:
1. Go Museum hopping. London has a lot of museums to offer for any collections available. History buffs can try British Museum, Museum of London, and Imperial War Museum. Kids and avid toy collectors can head to Pollock s Toy Museum, and art junkies will love Saatchi gallery for it innovative and contemporary displays.
2. Live the Royal life. London is synonymous to the Royal family, home of the King s and Queen s, the city will not be complete without a visit to everything royal. Head to Westminster s Abbey where most royal coronations and weddings happened. If you re a fan of Princess Diana, head to St. Paul s Cathedral, the site of her fairytale wedding to Prince Charles. Also, don t miss the historical Hyde Park, where a variety of fountains where erected including Princess Diana s Memorial Fountain. Lastly, visit the Queen s magnificent residence, the Buckingham Palace.
3. Go sight-seeing. Just like with the Royal Family, London is also famous for their red double-decker bus. Ride the open-top bus where you can have London in full view of it s amazing sights. Speaking of sights, for some high-above altitude thrill, get into the London s Eye. This 443-feet high Ferris Wheel is the biggest in Europe and one of London s premier tourist attractions. You can view the south of river Thames, Big Ben, and the Palace of Westminster while riding the oval-shaped capsules. If water is your type, you can ride the newly-opened and recently added attraction for the 2012 Olympics, the Lee Valley White Water Center. Experience the shrill of rapids as you paddle your way to the finish line. Finally, ride the Tube. The London Underground is not just some underground railway, London boasts the first rapid underground railway. This most popular form of mass transit has 270 stations that can get you almost anywhere in London.
4. Immerse yourself in the world of Harry Potter. The boy wizard is definitely a Londoner, Harry Potter bus tours are available for HP fanatics who wants to relieve the magic. Some of the popular sights are shooting locations such as the 9 platforms and some parts of Leaky Cauldron.
5. Shopping with the finest. Shops in London are world s best, not to mention that the prices have gone to gigantic proportions. High-end brands aside, there are a variety of London sales that can get you that designer item you desire. Go to Wimbledon for some car boot sales . No, they are not selling cars, but this is where you can find some designer steal, to vintage pieces, and second-hand treasures. There s also the sample sale , where you can get those new designer items for a bargain price. Then, for those who want to shop and help at the same time, head to charity sales where you can score second-hand fabulous items, proceed go to the sponsored charity.
